my little green garden

My garden is growing. I only planted it about 2 1/2 weeks ago and I am surprised of how fast they are growing. I love this time of year,....Spring. I love walking into Home Depot and seeing all the plants lined in a row and calling out to me to take them home and plant them. If I had the money I would probably buy one of everything. I don't think you could see in the picture, but I have my first little yellow bell pepper growing. Here my brussels sprouts are growing so well. These are my green beans that I just cannot wait to eat. We eat them like french fries (minus the frying). And this little lady is growing so well. She's my grape tomato. Everyday I am surprised to see how much see is growing......I am a proud mom of her.
And this is the whole garden in one picture. I couldn't go and take pictures of the garden without taking pictures of the boys. So here is #2, don't you just want to eat him up?

Meet our Mr. Firefighter. It was a gift when Landon graduated from the Fire Academy some four years ago. He has been in our front walk way for the past couple of years. However, the boys just love putting dirt into it. It gets all clogged up with dirt and just stops working. So the other day I decided to take it out and put it in the backyard were (in future) there will no longer be dirt. Let me just say that Landon will have the job of cleaning that fountain. It was an all day process that I do not want to do again. And of course the boys are loving it in the backyard as much as they did in the front yard.

And Shane at the bottom of the slide. And what does mom do.....take the pictures. I did comfort him afterwards.

just an update

It's been so crazy around here, I haven't even turned on my computer lately. Trust me I have been going through withdrawals. So last weekend we did Wyatt's birthday celebration with our family so Landon and I decided to made his cake while he was enjoying his Sunday nap. He got these dinosaur candles from his grammie and he LOVED them, he even slept with them because he loved so much. We got a little creative, but we had fun doing it. Wyatt loved it!!
Boys have the weirdest smiles sometimes. Look how cute Miley is, she is so sweetFor Easter weekend my sister and her family came down to my moms house. So we headed out there for Easter as well. I was so glad I was able to catch this on the camera. During the hunt Wyatt had the hardest time finding the eggs. So Landon was trying to help him out. Well as you can see in these pictures, the eggs are right in front of his face and he still has a hard time finding them.
No still can't see them.
Where did you say?????OOOhhhh there.....I see!!!
And then there is my baby Shane just being him. He is so cute.....I just love being a mom

wyatt turns three

I can't believe my little guy is three today. How nervous I was to meet him and have him come to this world. How my life changed when we had him. And how I would never go back and change it. He is the funniest little kid around. I love how he excepted Shane so well and is so protective over him. l love watching him when he discovers something new and the excitement he has for it. I love seeing the moment when the light turns on for him and the expression he gives. I'm so blessed to have him come down to me. How did I get so lucky? I just hope I can continue to teach him to be the best he can and that he can do anything he puts his mind to, and the sky's the limit. I love you Wyatt and Happy Birthday!

our little garden

This weekend was such a beautiful weekend. (I meant that in terms of the weather, I was way too busy to consider it the other way). Since it was so nice Landon and I decided to plant our garden. At first I thought I we would plant a few things here and a few things there. Well we planted things EVERYWHERE! (ooh a little Dr. Seuss) Landon and I got a little too excited about things growing inside Home Depot and we have the whole back side of our yard full of seeds soon to be plants. Which I am happy about. I love to have a garden. There is something about having a garden and getting your vegetables from your backyard instead of the store. Oh how the taste is something else. How a home grown tomato melts in your mouth, I love it!!!

So here are my beautiful little girls standing in a row waiting to be planted. Here we have a jalapeno pepper, sweet banana pepper, sweet purple pepper, green bell pepper, a red and yellow bell pepper. Six different peppers. Yes we like it hot (you can take that which ever way you want)

Included with the peppers we have sweet basil, rosemary and cilantro. We have three rows of Brussels sprouts, as well as three rows of beets (my favorite). Then we have three rows of green beans, four different tomato's: better boy (the big ones), sweet 100 (cherry), early girl (I"ll get them earlier then normal) and a grape tomato. Next to that we have three zucchini and three cucumbers. Oh I almost forgot our mint. I'm very excited to partake in the goodness of my fruits. And most likely I will be showing you more of the progress of my harvest. Chat with you soon!

I loved watching Wyatt's excitement for the garden as well. However, seeing Landon getting excited for the garden was priceless. So was the hat he was wearing.
Totally off the subject, but am I the only one who has trouble uploading with blogger. Sometimes it will only lets me upload one picture at a time, like today. Other times it won't let me sign it. Or other times I can't post anything at all. Hope I'm not the only idiot out there.

sweet as a kern

Last Friday I had the pleasure of photographing the Kern family. It was a blast! At first I was a little worried because of the fact that there were eight kids under the age of ten, but it ended up being so much fun. After screaming pizza for each shot and getting everyone to sing Old McDonald it was a true pleasure capturing their kids. We ended up in a field behind one of ward buildings so the when it wasn't their turn to take pictures they headed out to the field. One of my favorite things about taking pictures of kids is capturing them when they are being just them. When they are in their own little world and making their own little expression's.This kid was the greatest. He went from that to this. I had to keep an eye on him.
