a big leap for mom

(I did not pick his lunch box.....his dad did. Thought it was the coolest. Mom not so much. As you can see Wyatt was so excited about it.)

I didn't think I could do with out crying. But somehow I did. A little shaky while I got him ready. I couldn't believe that today he would go. He was just a baby yesterday. But today a strong willed boy that is not afraid. He was ready about a year ago. I just held on as long as I could. However, today was the day that Wyatt started pre-school.

He was so excited he couldn't think straight. All weekend he said I was going to be sad and he was going to be so happy. And he was right. Sad that the school thing is now started but very happy for him to make new friends and be in school. Also very happy for me to have a little more time to myself.

Katie....just being her beautiful self

Last week I was able to photograph Katie for some portraits. When I first got the call to do some senior portraits I was excited because it has been awhile since I had a chance to shot just one person. However, I was extremely ecstatic when I found out that she wanted to do some with her harp. I think I might have had more fun then she did. It was perfect! Here are just some of my favorites.

Last but not least, this is my favorite.

Katie you are so beautiful.
Thank you!

just an update...

Other then being taken away by just playing the role of a mother last week, nothing new. For a few days I just "mom".

No photographer

No breadwinner

Just mom

And if felt so nice to get back to my roots.

As mentioned earlier I went to Colorado. Sadly without my husband. But other then having him without us it was great. Well, we could have gone without the blizzard we ran into on the way to the airport. But an hour of waiting on the plane at the gate before we headed to get de-iced wasn't so bad.

All in all, it was a good trip. I got to spend time with my absolute favorite sister in the whole wide world! (my only sister, but she is still the best). And I had a chance to see my new little nephew.

I also got to go sliding for the first time with my boys.

Luckily my boys didn't mind the purple boots and pink mittens. Coming from Southern California, you don't think about that kind of stuff. Nor do you have it handy.

The boys loved the snow. They could not get enough of it. At first it was funny to see Shane discover that he could the snow

But then he wouldn't stop

So he just kept on going

I never knew snow could make things look so beautiful! I loved it up there.

And I was so excited to see CJ. He was such a sweet baby.

I thought to myself....."I could totally live here. This snow thing isn't that bad. It's beautiful!"
My thoughts quickly changed when we ran into a blizzard on the way to the airport and hit black ice. All thoughts went straight to " when can I get on that plane and in to 80 degree weather in southern California". I think I will stick to visiting the snow, not living in it.

i'm growing monkey ears?

So I have seen other blogs that the mom writes down the funny quotes of what their children say that day. I thought to myself.....smart.

I should do that

However, that requires me to remember what they said by the time I get to blogging it.

I got lucky tonight!

So I was just finishing off the boys bath and changing them into their PJ's when Wyatt looked up in the mirror (which is his closet doors, the length of his room) and said

"Hey! I'm growing monkey ears! That's funny".....ending it with the oddest facial expression.

So this might not be so funny to you. However, for me it cracked me up. I have always thought his ear stood out a little too much. But I was not going to say a word. I thought I would let him figure that one out on his own. At least now he thinks that pretty cool.

So goodnight my little monkey ears

for my big sis

just a little sneak peek for my sister. He is a cutie!

if this doesn't put a smile on your face

i don't know what would.

After a day of unpacking, cleaning, and just trying to get your day straight, something like this is nice.
There is nothing else better then coming to a dinner table with a princess. With necklaces, sunglasses (upside down may I add) and a gorgeous dress to top it off.

I took one look and knew I had to get this on camera for mom.

I love my two new little roommates. I get to see an insight of things if I were to have a girl.
